Greece Agrees to Up to $4 Billion US Arms Deal, Sources Say

Greece has agreed to spend up to $4 billion on advanced US missiles and bombs, and upgrades to additional F-16 fighter jets, two senior sources said. The agreement covers weapons for F-16 Vipers, F-35s, and Black Hawk helicopters, as well as converting older F-16s to the Viper configuration. Greek officials said most purchases are already part of the country’s multiyear defense plan, so the spending will be spread over several years. The deal follows a visit by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
