In a gentle dawn of creativity, Google has unveiled Nano Banana Pro, its latest image-generation and editing model. Imagine a quiet studio where ideas settle softly on canvas, taking shape not in broad brush strokes but with meticulous control — that is the promise of this new tool.

Nano Banana Pro, officially named Gemini 3 Pro Image, builds upon the capabilities of its predecessor by harnessing Gemini 3 Pro’s advanced reasoning and world knowledge. What makes it remarkable is its balance between creative freedom and precise control: you can generate context-rich visuals, from infographics to diagrams, with legible, multilingual text right in the image.

This isn’t just about looking pretty. Nano Banana Pro connects to Google Search to ground its visual outputs in real-world data, making it possible to create real-time visualizations, such as weather maps or sports infographics. The model supports up to 4K resolution, a significant leap from the 1K limit of the original Nano Banana.

Editing is more refined, too. Users can precisely control lighting, camera angle, depth of field, color grading, and focus. The new model also supports blending up to 14 images and preserving the likeness of up to five people — handy for compositing complex scenes or maintaining consistency across iterations.

On the matter of authenticity, Google embeds SynthID digital watermarks in images generated with Nano Banana Pro. Through the Gemini app, users can even upload an image and ask whether it was generated by Google AI — a tool to help confirm provenance. For users on Google AI Ultra, Google removes the visible sparkle watermark — but the underlying SynthID remains.

For access, Nano Banana Pro is rolling out across Google’s ecosystem: the Gemini app (in “Thinking” mode), Google Ads, Google Slides, Vids, and more. Developers can tap into it via Gemini API, Google AI Studio, Vertex AI, and even Google’s Antigravity platform.

This step feels like Google nudging creators gently toward a future where AI-generated visuals are not just fast, but also deeply thoughtful — where design is not sacrificed for speed, and control does not come at the expense of imagination.
