Germany’s far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) plans to introduce a joint motion with the far-left Sahra Wagenknecht Alliance (BSW) in Saxony-Anhalt’s state parliament, calling for an end to military support for Ukraine. The proposal is due for debate next week and would not directly affect national policy, which is set by Germany’s federal government. AfD state leader Ulrich Siegmund said the motion represented a desire for change. BSW founder Sahra Wagenknecht urged Berlin to resume dialogue with Moscow.
