Germany has formally blamed Russia for an attempted drone attack at Leipzig/Halle Airport and announced measures against Moscow. The explosive-laden drone was found near a Ukrainian aircraft on Aug. 4 and safely defused. Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt said the device’s design, components, explosives and detonator resembled those used in Russian hybrid operations. Officials said intelligence and police investigations established Russian responsibility, though the agents’ identities remain unclear. Germany plans to close Russia’s Bonn consulate, tighten entry controls and seek sanctions
