From Wall Street to Crypto: Solana and Cardano Emerge as Institutional Favorites

As the digital asset landscape evolves, two names are starting to stand out again: Solana ($SOL) and Cardano ($ADA).

The SEC’s approval of ETF standards is not just about Bitcoin anymore — it opens the doors for broader crypto ETFs that could eventually include altcoins like SOL and ADA. Combine that with p.m.-settled options on the Cboe Bitcoin ETF indexes, and the roadmap for altcoin ETFs becomes clearer than ever.

The timing couldn’t be better. With the Federal Reserve cutting interest rates by 25bps and signaling more cuts to come, liquidity is making its way back into risk assets. Ahead of this, a $2 billion stablecoin inflow was recorded, signaling that investors are preparing for the next big wave.

Adding to the firepower, the CME Group is preparing options on Solana and XRP futures, giving SOL mainstream legitimacy in derivatives markets — a key sign of maturity for any asset. At the same time, Forward Industries’ $4 billion share sale to strengthen Solana’s ecosystem strategy highlights institutional belief in its long-term value proposition.

Cardano, with its deeply rooted development ecosystem, benefits equally from these trends. ETFs and institutional adoption could finally provide the liquidity needed to unlock its next chapter of growth.

As banks like SBI Shinsei experiment with tokenized settlements, it becomes clearer that blockchains like Solana and Cardano aren’t just speculative assets anymore — they’re part of the foundation of a new financial order.

For investors, this may be the perfect storm. Cheaper liquidity, new financial instruments, and institutional capital could position $SOL and $ADA as two of the biggest winners in 2025’s crypto bull run.
