France summoned Iran’s ambassador on Wednesday over what its foreign ministry called a disinformation campaign targeting the country’s student protests. Spokesperson Pascal Confavreux described online content shared by official Iranian accounts as “absolutely unacceptable” and said Tehran’s earlier summons of France’s ambassador was baseless. The protests have involved clashes and hundreds of arrests, as students demand improved school conditions. Paris urged Tehran to stop what it called provocations.
