An attack by Iran-backed Houthis in the Bab el-Mandeb strait killed four crew members aboard an Egyptian-owned cargo ship, and two rescuers were also reported dead. Yemen’s transport ministry said the crew lost control of the vessel after being hit. Separately, the U.S. military reported striking a container ship in the Gulf of Oman with Hellfire missiles after it attempted to sail toward an Iranian port despite repeated warnings. The incidents come amid intensifying disruption to regional shipping.
