Heavy seasonal flooding inundated Karangligar Village in West Telukjambe District, Karawang, submerging hundreds of residential houses and surrounding agricultural land. The floods spread rapidly across residential areas, rice paddies, and key highways, forcing residents to seek higher ground and disrupting travel.
Local disaster response units reported that water levels rose sharply following days of intense rainfall, overwhelming riverbanks and drainage systems in the area. The inundation has left many residents stranded and has cut access to several rural roadways connecting the village with nearby towns.
Agricultural fields in the region, primarily rice paddies, were hit particularly hard, with standing crops completely submerged. Farmers expressed concern about crop losses and long-term impacts on their livelihoods if water levels do not recede soon.
