Flock Safety CEO speaks out after LAPD suspends use of company’s surveillance cameras

Flock Safety CEO Garrett Langley says he hopes LAPD’s suspension of the company’s services will be reversed after the department ended its three-year partnership. LAPD’s chief information officer said the LAPD had to discontinue Flock use until concerns over data, privacy, security, and sharing are addressed through a contractual relationship. Langley told ABC7 he wants policy alignment and then “turn it back on.” Flock says its system doesn’t use facial recognition, and it retains license-plate data for about 30 days
