Fire Erupts at Saudi Aramco Headquarters Complex in Dhahran After Strike

DHAHRAN, Saudi Arabia — A fire broke out at a Saudi Aramco administrative complex in the eastern city of Dhahran late Tuesday following a missile attack, amidst escalating regional conflict.

Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Energy confirmed the incident on Wednesday morning, October 14, 2026 stating that emergency responders quickly contained the blaze and that no casualties or injuries were reported. Sources familiar with the matter revealed that a ballistic missile struck an office tower inside the headquarters compound, causing damage to the building's top three floors before sparking a contained fire.

The targeted facility in Dhahran serves as the central command hub for state oil giant Saudi Aramco. From this complex, the company manages a critical network of onshore and offshore drilling platforms, crude pipelines, refineries, and major export terminals that supply global energy markets.

Military air defense systems were active across the region during the attack. The Saudi-led coalition reported that air defense forces intercepted a ballistic missile heading toward Dhahran, though falling debris landed in nearby areas. Air defense units also destroyed several incoming missiles and drones over Riyadh and the kingdom's southern border regions around the same time.

The strike on Dhahran comes amid an intensified exchange between Saudi forces and Iran-aligned Houthi militants in Yemen. Houthi forces have stepped up drone and long-range missile strikes targeting key Saudi infrastructure, including multiple recent strikes aimed at airports and energy assets across the kingdom. In response, coalition forces carried out military operations targeting fuel distribution infrastructure and energy sites in Houthi-controlled territory.

Despite the localized structural damage, international energy markets stabilized quickly as global oil supply routes remained fully functional. Market observers emphasize that Saudi Aramco’s rapid emergency containment and robust operational redundancy averted a potential disruption to global energy supplies. As emergency teams wrap up damage assessments on the Dhahran office tower, energy industry analysts note that the underlying oil production infrastructure remained unaffected and operations continue across Saudi Arabia's primary facilities.
