AUCKLAND, New Zealand — Emergency services rushed to Auckland’s southern suburbs on Monday, May 25, 2026 after a fierce structural fire erupted inside a residential property in Mt Roskill. Multiple firefighting crews converged on the neighborhood, launching an aggressive operation to contain the flames and prevent them from spreading to adjacent properties.

Fire and Emergency New Zealand (FENZ) received emergency calls reporting thick smoke pouring from a residential address in Mt Roskill. Dispatchers immediately upgraded the incident, deploying four fire appliances and a crew of 16 specialized firefighters to the scene.

Upon arrival, first responders encountered a well-involved house fire, with heavy smoke blankets and active flames breaching the roofline.
