A ferry carrying 116 passengers and 17 crew sank off the coast of Guyana after departing Georgetown, officials said. A distress call was received late Saturday, triggering a rescue operation near Iron Punt involving government teams and private boats. So far, 67 people have been rescued, including 15 children. Prime Minister Mark Phillips said the captain was among those recovered and returned to assist. Rescue crews expanded their search area as details continue to emerge.
