Federal Strike Against Poison: FBI Denver Seizes Massive Drug Cache

In a decisive blow against transnational organized crime, the FBI Denver Transnational Organized Crime Task Force executed a federal search warrant in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, uncovering one of the most significant drug seizures in the area this year.

The operation resulted in the recovery of 290 pounds of methamphetamine, 35 pounds of fentanyl pills, 2 pounds of cocaine, several ounces of heroin, and two firearms. Fentanyl alone has become one of the most lethal drugs in circulation, responsible for tens of thousands of overdose deaths annually. Even a few milligrams can be fatal, making the seizure of 35 pounds of fentanyl pills especially critical. The successful operation was the result of inter-agency cooperation, involving the Aurora Police Department, ATF Denver, U.S. Postal Inspection Service, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), and IRS Criminal Investigation.
