FBI Director Kash Patel has announced the arrest of two individuals accused of ambushing federal law enforcement officers in Chicago. The suspects are alleged to have rammed a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) agent's vehicle over the weekend.
In a strong response, the DHS has labeled the suspects as "domestic terrorists." One of the arrested individuals, Marimar Martinez, was reportedly armed with a semi-automatic weapon during the incident. Martinez also has a known history of doxxing federal agents, a tactic used to intimidate by releasing their private personal information online.
Director Patel confirmed the charges in a public statement, saying, "The @FBI just arrested two individuals who were allegedly driving these vehicles and attacking our federal law enforcement officers." The specific charges filed are for assaulting federal officers with a deadly or dangerous weapon. Patel concluded with a firm warning: "Attack our law enforcement, and this FBI will find you and bring you to justice."
