EU governments agreed to open two additional accession clusters with Ukraine after Hungary lifted its veto, bringing the total to four of six. The breakthrough followed an agreement on protections for Ukraine’s ethnic Hungarian minority, a longstanding demand from Budapest. The shift could pave the way for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Hungarian Prime Minister Péter Magyar to meet on the sidelines of an EU summit in Brussels. Diplomats are working to arrange talks, but no date has been set and the meeting is not confirmed.
