Forces linked to Erik Prince’s Vectus Global suffered a major battlefield loss in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo after an ambush on September 17, Reuters reported. Sources said about 20 people were killed or wounded, including at least seven Congolese personnel and a former New Zealand special forces member. Former UFC fighter Tim Kennedy was among the wounded, reportedly suffering three gunshot wounds to his leg. Sources suggested Rwandan forces may have been involved; Rwanda, Congo and M23 had not publicly responded to requests for comment.
