Erdogan Condemns Black Sea Ship Attacks After Talks With Zelensky

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan condemned attacks on civilian vessels in the Black Sea after meeting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Istanbul. He urged Russia and Ukraine to act responsibly, saying such strikes only heighten tensions and serve no one’s interests. Ankara has proposed ending attacks on civilian ships, but says neither side has acted on the proposal. Zelensky said the leaders discussed maritime security and possible diplomatic initiatives. Erdogan pledged to continue talks aimed at restoring safe navigation, expressing hope that an agreement could support lasting peace in Ukraine.
