Elena Moore Died of Natural Causes, Coroner Says

Elena Moore, whose body was found in a wooded area near Lakeside Middle School in June, died from complications of cardiac dysrhythmias, Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher said Friday. A pathologist’s autopsy and review of Moore’s medical history found no signs of homicide, Fisher said. Moore, 39, had been diagnosed with an irregular heartbeat as a teenager. South Carolina’s State Law Enforcement Division said its investigation remains active. Moore was last seen alive on June 11, and her husband reported her missing the following day.
