Drone Strike Hits Industrial Facility in Russia’s Perm Region, Leaving 5 Wounded

PERM, Russia — A drone strike hit an industrial facility deep inside Russia's Ural region on Sunday, October 25, 2026 leaving five workers injured and damaging physical infrastructure.

Perm Krai Governor Dmitry Makhonin confirmed the strike on the state-backed messaging app MAX, stating that emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene to assist those wounded. According to regional officials, all five injured personnel received prompt medical attention, while the plant managed to maintain standard operations despite the structural damage.

The drone strike targeted an industrial complex in Russia's Perm Krai, situated more than 1,000 kilometers (600 miles) from the Ukrainian border. The attack resulted in physical damage to the site and left five facility employees injured, though operations were able to continue. In response, emergency services were quickly dispatched to stabilize the area and assess the full extent of the damage.

The strike highlights the growing reach of long-range aerial capabilities targeting manufacturing and industrial infrastructure deep within Russian territory. Situated in the Ural Mountains region, Perm Krai is a major hub for metallurgy, chemical manufacturing, and processing supporting the defense-industrial base. While authorities did not disclose the precise location or nature of the facility involved, regional air defense units remain on high alert following the incident.

This targeted strike reflects a broader strategy focused on disrupting key supply chains and energy production facilities that sustain heavy industry across the region. By striking sites far behind the front lines, these long-range operations complicate defensive efforts, forcing military command to redistribute air defense systems over a vastly wider geographical area.

In response to the growing vulnerability of inland regions, local authorities across Perm Krai and neighboring Ural districts have begun reviewing municipal safety protocols and industrial protection measures. Security at critical infrastructure hubs has been intensified, with heightened surveillance and emergency readiness drills implemented to mitigate the impact of future potential long-range aerial incursions.
