All four Moscow airports suspended arrivals and departures overnight into Friday, October 16, amid drone alerts, Russian aviation authorities said. More than 20 inbound aircraft were diverted during the disruption. Restrictions affected Vnukovo, Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo and Zhukovsky airports, with all four reopening by 5:43 a.m. Moscow time. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said air defenses intercepted 94 drones heading toward the capital. The shutdown followed similar disruptions earlier in October, including flight cancellations and delays. Airline operations resumed before dawn Friday.
