LOGANHOLME, Australia — Emergency services rushed to a venue in Queensland on Saturday evening, October 24, 2026 after a drive-by shooting outside a local boxing event left at least four people seriously injured.
The attack unfolded around 8:15 p.m. local time outside Fitzy’s, a function and event center in Loganholme, south of Brisbane. The venue was hosting the Logan City Titles amateur boxing event when gunshots were fired from a passing vehicle into the crowd gathered near the entrance.
Four individuals sustained significant gunshot wounds during the drive-by. According to initial reports, victims suffered injuries including head, arm, and abdominal gunshot wounds, requiring urgent medical transport to local hospitals.
Following the gunfire, the suspect vehicle sped away from the scene. Shortly after the attack, police located a vehicle set ablaze in nearby Waterford West, believed to be connected to the shooting.
Queensland Police established a broad crime scene around the venue and the location of the burned vehicle. A major investigation and manhunt are currently underway to identify the shooter and establish a motive for the attack. No arrests have been made, and authorities continue to urge witnesses and anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.
The sudden violence triggered widespread panic among spectators and families inside the venue, many of whom were evacuated or instructed to shelter in place while tactical officers secured the perimeter. Local community leaders expressed shock over the brazen attack, condemning the violence at a community sports event and calling for calm as law enforcement agencies work to restore safety in the area.
In response to the shooting, Queensland Police have heightened patrols across the region and deployed specialized investigative units to track down potential leads. Authorities emphasized that preliminary evidence is being reviewed rapidly, including surveillance video from nearby businesses and street intersections, in an effort to trace the movements of the vehicle prior to the shooting.
