Dozens Killed in Attack on Ethiopian Orthodox Christians

Church sources say at least 37 Orthodox Christian civilians were killed in attacks in Ethiopia’s Arsi Zone, Oromia region, around the country’s general election. The reported violence affected Tefa Kebele and nearby communities, with homes and property burned or looted. Church officials reported that century-old St. Gabriel Church was destroyed and more than 280 households displaced. The allegations have not been independently verified, and government officials had not commented in the report. Church leaders called for protection of civilians and an investigation.
