Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi on her arrival in India, saying he was delighted to host her for her first visit to the country. In a post on X, Modi said he looked forward to wide-ranging discussions, adding that the talks would further deepen the India-Japan Special Strategic and Global Partnership.

Takaichi is visiting New Delhi for three days, from July 1 to July 3, at Modi’s invitation. Her visit is set to include participation in the 16th India-Japan Annual Summit, where both leaders are expected to review the broad spectrum of bilateral cooperation and exchange views on regional and global issues.
