Danish shipyard keeping Putin’s €4bn gas tankers afloat angers EU politicians

A coalition of 101 parliamentarians and MEPs urged Denmark’s Fayard shipyard to halt maintenance on Russia’s Arc7 LNG ice-class tankers, saying the work helps sustain Putin’s Arctic LNG exports. They cited the arrival of the Rudolf Samoylovich at Fayard on June 30 and warned that servicing before an EU embargo on Russian LNG in January 2027 could keep the fleet running for years. The group said the tankers have transported Russian LNG worth about €4bn per vessel.
