Cresthaven Jet Crash: Learjet 60 Collides in Florida Residential Zone, Killing All 9 Onboard

CRESTHAVEN, FLORIDA — A tragic aviation disaster unfolded on Sunday, November 1, 2026 when a Learjet 60 private aircraft crashed into a residential neighborhood near Cresthaven, killing all nine people on board.

Emergency crews rushed to the scene following reports of a high-impact crash that sent shockwaves through the quiet community and ignited fires across multiple residential properties.

According to preliminary reports from aviation authorities and local law enforcement, the private jet went down during its flight path, losing altitude rapidly before impacting the ground in a residential sector near Cresthaven.

Officials confirmed that all nine occupants—including crew members and passengers—perished in the crash. The impact damaged several homes, with debris scattered over a wide radius, while local fire departments worked quickly to extinguish the resulting flames and secure the area. Additionally, emergency personnel conducted sweeps of damaged residences to assess and treat any residents affected by the crash and ensuing fires.

"We heard an unusually loud engine roar followed by a massive explosion," recalled a local resident. "Smoke filled the air almost instantly, and first responders were on the scene within minutes."

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) have launched a joint investigation into the incident. Flight investigators are working to recover the aircraft’s flight data recorders ("black boxes") to analyze flight parameters, radar data, and voice recordings prior to the crash.

Investigators will examine multiple potential factors, including potential mechanical failure, adverse weather conditions, and air traffic control communications leading up to the descent.

Local officials have cordoned off the crash site as recovery operations continue, urging residents to avoid the immediate area to allow federal investigators and emergency teams to complete their work. As the community begins the long path toward healing, local religious and civic leaders have organized memorial gatherings to honor the lives lost and offer collective support to the families of the victims as well as the homeowners whose properties were devastated.
