Clashes erupt in Albania as protesting students join anti-government movement

Police clashed with student protesters in Tirana for a second day on Wednesday, firing water cannons as demonstrators set up barricades with burning rubbish bins. The student protests began over concerns about public education but joined the broader “Flamingo Revolution,” which seeks the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama over corruption allegations and opposition to a coastal development project linked to Jared Kushner. Police said 23 people were detained overnight; six officers and one journalist were injured. Earlier clashes involved tear gas and property damage.
