Christa Pike, a Tennessee death-row inmate, has been discharged from hospital and returned to the Deborah K. Johnson Rehabilitation Center, her attorneys said Saturday. Pike survived two doses of pentobarbital during a September 30 execution attempt. Her lawyers said she continues to receive medical care in prison but did not disclose when she left hospital or provide a full update on her condition. The failed execution prompted legal action, and a judge ordered Tennessee officials to preserve related evidence. Governor Bill Lee has halted executions for the remainder of 2026.
