Norwegian military personnel found that rented Chinese-made vehicles recorded footage during September exercises, including soldiers, travel routes, and access codes for protected facilities. At least two were Deepal models. Vehicles came from First Rent A Car Norway, operating under Hertz and linked through Volvo Cars to China’s Geely group. Soldiers found clips while exploring onboard systems and deleted footage, though vehicles remained in use because alternatives were scarce. The military has not disclosed whether recordings were transmitted externally.
