China Overtakes Germany as Poland’s Biggest Import Source for First Time

China became Poland’s largest source of goods imports in July, overtaking Germany for the first time on record, according to National Bank of Poland data. The shift was driven by strong growth in Chinese computer equipment, passenger cars and durable consumer goods. Imports from China rose 28.8 percent year on year, while German imports fell 1.8 percent. Analysts said the change may partly reflect temporary factors, although China’s role in Poland’s supply chain has steadily expanded over recent years.
