A ceasefire that began around Russian-occupied Oleshky to enable delivery of food and medicine has been extended across Ukraine’s Kherson region, officials say. The expanded arrangement is intended to give humanitarian convoys safe passage, after thousands of residents were trapped amid shortages of food, water and electricity. US First Lady Melania Trump said she helped broker the truce with Pope Leo XIV. Officials report no breaches so far. Aid deliveries and evacuations are planned for Friday under the deal.
