Incumbent Iliana Yotova won Bulgaria’s presidential runoff against former caretaker prime minister Andrey Gyurov, according to parallel vote counts reported by polling agencies. The counts put Yotova at about 57% to 58%, compared with Gyurov’s 39%, though official results were pending. Her victory would make her Bulgaria’s first elected female head of state. Yotova favors dialogue with Moscow and opposes military aid to Ukraine, while Gyurov campaigned on a pro-Western platform and support for Kyiv. Low turnout remained a concern.
