Bukele Launches Military Operation to Rescue Salvadorans Held in Haiti

El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele says he has launched an operation to rescue four Salvadoran aviation technicians kidnapped in Haiti. The men went missing after fleeing an attack on an armored vehicle near Port-au-Prince. Bukele demanded their safe release and warned gangs that a more forceful operation could follow if they were not returned alive and unharmed. It remains unclear which forces would carry out any further action. Haiti’s government called the abduction an “absolute priority” and said it was mobilizing resources with the international security mission
