BRICS has overtaken the G7 in economic output when measured by purchasing power parity, according to IMF-based projections. The bloc’s combined PPP-adjusted GDP was estimated at about $56 trillion, compared with roughly $52.4 trillion for the G7. China and India account for much of BRICS’ rise, supported by rapid growth and expanding domestic markets. However, the G7 remains larger in nominal GDP and retains substantial influence over global finance, trade, sanctions, and security policy despite its relative decline still.
