Brazil Orders Flávio Bolsonaro to Surrender Passport After Election Defeat

Brazilian Senator Flávio Bolsonaro says federal police ordered him to surrender his passports and barred him from leaving Brazil, following his defeat in Sunday’s presidential runoff against incumbent Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. Bolsonaro said officers approached him in Brasília after he visited his father, former President Jair Bolsonaro, who is under house arrest following a coup conviction. He said the order came from Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes. Bolsonaro denied intending to flee and called the measure intimidation.
