Former 777 Partners CEO Joshua Wander pleaded guilty in Manhattan on October 15 to wire and securities fraud involving more than US$500 million. The firm backed Australian low-cost airline Bonza before its collapse in April 2024. Prosecutors said Wander deceived lenders and investors using double-pledged assets and falsified bank statements. He agreed to forfeit at least US$500 million and faces sentencing on March 1, 2027. Each count carries a maximum 20-year prison term. The plea resolves Wander’s federal criminal case.
