Iranian blogger Soda Ebrahimi Shamsabadi, 33, has been sentenced to death by Branch 3 of the Bandar Abbas Revolutionary Court. She was convicted of insulting Iran’s supreme leader, conducting propaganda against national security, cooperating with hostile governments, and sending photographs to Persian-language media abroad. The court also imposed prison terms, restrictions on government services, and property confiscation. Her lawyer was notified in August. Rights groups say Iran is increasingly using death sentences against protesters, journalists, and political dissidents and activists.
