The change is particularly visible among younger people. Those between 15 and 34 are among the most frequent users, reflecting a generation that has grown accustomed to digital services evolving almost as quickly as the devices through which they are accessed.

Artificial intelligence is also becoming more visible in professional environments. Employees are using AI to assist with writing, research, organization, translation, analysis, and other tasks, although the spread of these tools has sometimes moved faster than workplace policies designed to govern their use.

That gap between adoption and regulation is part of the quieter story behind the numbers. A technology can become familiar before institutions have fully settled questions about privacy, accuracy, accountability, and appropriate use. The transition therefore happens simultaneously on several levels.

For Switzerland, the development carries particular significance. The country has a long association with precision engineering, research, pharmaceuticals, finance, and advanced manufacturing. AI now adds another layer to an economy and society already accustomed to technological change.

The growth in usage also suggests that artificial intelligence is moving beyond the early stage in which people simply experiment with new systems. For many users, the technology is becoming part of an established digital routine, much like search engines, smartphones, and cloud services once did.
