Bank of America: AI Infrastructure Spending Could Exceed $700 Billion in 2026

Artificial intelligence investment is expected to reach another milestone in 2026 as the world's largest technology companies dramatically expand spending on AI infrastructure. According to Bank of America, five leading hyperscale technology firms could collectively invest more than $700 billion during the year to support AI development and deployment. The projected spending includes major technology companies such as Meta Platforms, Amazon, Alphabet, Microsoft and Oracle. These firms continue building advanced data centers, expanding cloud computing capacity, purchasing specialized AI processors and strengthening networking infrastructure needed to support increasingly sophisticated artificial intelligence models. Bank of America estimates that capital spending by these companies could rise from roughly 70 percent of operating cash flow in 2025 to nearly 100 percent in 2026.
