Rothbury, Mich. — Michigan State Police say a newborn baby was found dead inside a portable toilet (porta-potty) in the camping area of the Electric Forest music festival on Sunday morning.

Authorities report that an employee of the restroom vending company discovered the baby during routine maintenance of the restroom.

Investigators said there is no known threat to the public, and the investigation is ongoing.

Michigan State Police asked the public to avoid speculation on social media and to contact investigators with any information.
