The Azawad Liberation Front (FLA) claimed it inflicted heavy losses on Malian forces and Russian troops in clashes in northern Mali. FLA spokesperson Mohamed Elmaouloud Ramadane said Tuareg fighters attacked what he described as a reinforcement convoy made up largely of Russian mercenaries and Malian soldiers near Tabankort, while it was heading toward a besieged camp in Anefis. The FLA also alleged it seized Anefis, though Russian paramilitaries and a small Malian contingent reportedly remained in a camp there.
