Average gasoline prices under Trump edge above Biden’s as midterms approach

AAA data show U.S. regular gasoline averaged $3.472 per gallon since Donald Trump began his second term, slightly above the $3.471 average during Joe Biden’s presidency. The difference is less than one cent per gallon. Diesel averaged $4.343 under Trump, compared with $4.078 under Biden. Fuel costs have climbed amid disruptions tied to conflicts affecting global supply, placing pressure on household budgets ahead of November’s midterm elections. Biden did see a record peak of $5.02 per gallon in June 2022.
