Armed men abduct Kenyan editor, employer suspects government

Alex Kiprotich, an associate editor with Kenya’s Standard Group, was abducted from a car near Nakuru by four armed, masked men. He was later found safe near Masinga Dam, more than 200 kilometers away. His employer said the incident appeared connected to his journalism and followed an earlier attempted seizure. Human rights groups have accused state security agencies of abducting government critics, allegations officials deny. Police had not commented, while the case renewed concerns about press freedom and journalist safety in Kenya
