Prime Minister Andy Burnham said Brexit had not delivered what voters were promised and had weakened Britain’s economy and control of immigration. He described the current UK-EU deal as “not good enough” and said the country should take practical steps to improve its relationship with the bloc. Burnham said he would not propose rejoining the EU during this parliament or move ahead of public opinion, though he would like Britain to return within his lifetime. He is due to attend a UK-EU summit on November 20.
