Curator Marcus Lobbes and his team were booed and whistled at following the “Götterdämmerung” performance, though singers, musicians, and conductor Christian Thielemann received warm applause. Festival organizers said it was the first time AI appeared on stage as an image-generating force. The projections combined historical references, images from earlier “Ring” performances, and other associations.
