The Taliban government has suspended BBC FM radio transmissions across Afghanistan, the BBC said on October 13. Ministry of Information and Culture spokesperson Khubaib Ghufran said the suspension was due to “repeated violations” but did not specify what they were. The BBC said millions of people rely on its reporting and that it was working with authorities to address the situation. Its Afghan-language services remain available in Pashto, Dari and English through shortwave and medium-wave radio, online and satellite.
