The flood affected the area around the Solok regency government office complex in Batang Barus Village, Gunung Talang District. According to the Solok Regional Disaster Management Agency, the event occurred at around 8 p.m. after heavy rainfall in the area. Aerial photographs released by ANTARA show mud and other flood material spread across several parts of the affected area. Vehicles can be seen surrounded by sediment, while residents and emergency personnel move through areas covered by debris. Flood debris covered sections of the road, making the route temporarily impassable. Police advised motorists traveling between the two areas to use an alternative route through Padang Panjang while cleanup operations continued. Nearby residential areas were also impacted, prompting evacuation and emergency response efforts. The latest reports recorded four people injured in the disaster. Three were being treated at Arosuka Regional Hospital, while another was referred to a hospital in Padang. Nine families, totaling 32 people, were also reported to have evacuated to a temporary shelter. Weather conditions were an important part of the incident. BMKG reported heavy rainfall around Solok, with rainfall intensity reaching approximately 94 millimeters per day. The agency linked the heavy rainfall to the flash flood that struck the area on Monday night. As daylight returned, joint teams from BPBD, the military, police, firefighters, and local residents worked to evacuate people and clear flood material. Emergency personnel also searched areas affected by the flood as reports of missing people were being handled. The aerial photographs capture a moment in the recovery process rather than the end of the disaster. Mud and debris remain across parts of Arosuka, while access routes and public facilities require cleaning and assessment. Authorities continue coordinating the response as residents begin dealing with the immediate consequences of the flood. For motorists, the Solok-Padang route remains subject to conditions on the ground, with authorities advising the public not to force passage through affected sections.
