Abu Dhabi's government has formally launched the Abu Dhabi Government Digital Strategy 2025-2027, which envisions a fully AI-powered governance model. This strategy is being spearheaded by the Department of Government Enablement (DGE) in collaboration with various governmental bodies. The plan focuses on creating a robust digital infrastructure that allows for the 100% adoption of sovereign cloud computing and the complete automation of government operations.

The initiative marks a significant shift from earlier phases of digital advancement in the emirate, transitioning from e-government to smart technologies and now into an era dominated by artificial intelligence. More than 200 innovative AI solutions are slated for deployment across various government services, designed to enhance public service delivery and operational productivity.

Key aspects of the strategy include:

Unified Digital ERP Platform: This will integrate different government functions, streamlining operations and increasing efficiency. AI for All Program: An initiative aimed at empowering citizens and government employees by providing them with training and skills necessary to engage with AI technologies. Investment in Cybersecurity: The strategy emphasizes establishing a strong cybersecurity framework to protect data and systems as digital operations expand.

Expected outcomes from the strategy include:

An anticipated contribution of over AED 24 billion to Abu Dhabi's GDP by 2027. The creation of more than 5,000 new jobs in technology and digital services. Enhanced public infrastructure that will provide seamless and efficient services to citizens and businesses.

By forging partnerships with institutions like the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence and the Advanced Technology Research Council (ATRC), Abu Dhabi is securing its position as a leader in the AI-driven landscape of governance. This ambitious framework not only aims to enhance government efficiency but also to prepare the emirate for a sustainable digital future.

Through this strategy, His Excellency Ahmed Hisham Al Kuttab, Chairman of the DGE, envisions an agile, technology-driven government that will optimize operations and drive sustainable economic growth for the region.
