4 Palestinians Shot as Israeli Settlers Attack West Bank Village of Al-Mughayyir

Four young Palestinian men were wounded by live fire after Israeli settlers, escorted by military forces, launched a coordinated raid on the village of Al-Mughayyir, located northeast of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank. The incident sparked widespread confrontations as local residents attempted to defend their homes and property against the assault.

Groups of armed settlers entered the perimeter of Al-Mughayyir and began damaging civilian vehicles. Israeli military forces accompanying the settlers deployed live ammunition and tear gas against residents who gathered to oppose the attack.

Prior to the raid, military personnel closed off the main entrances to the village, restricting Palestinian movement while allowing settlers to move freely across surrounding lands.

Settlers attempted to storm several residential properties during the raid, including the home of local resident Shaaban Abu Aliya alongside houses situated on the western edge of the village. Medics with the Palestine Red Crescent Society treated four men for live-bullet wounds—two suffered injuries to the thigh, one was hit in the chest, and another in the abdomen—before evacuating all four to nearby medical facilities. Additionally, dozens of other villagers required medical attention for tear gas inhalation and injuries caused by rubber-coated metal bullets.

The attack on Al-Mughayyir comes amid a documented increase in violence across the territory. Local officials and rights groups report that military support during settler incursions has heightened risks for civilian communities. Operations were also reported elsewhere in the region on the same day, including settler raids targeting Palestinian homes in Beita and illegal outpost expansion near Bethlehem.

International observers and human rights organizations have repeatedly voiced concerns over the growing frequency of settler-led raids and the lack of accountability following such attacks. Local community leaders in Al-Mughayyir called on international bodies to establish protective monitoring in vulnerable agricultural villages to prevent further displacement and safeguard residents' livelihoods.
