Ukraine’s presidential commissioner for sanctions policy says that the missiles and drones Russia used in its latest large-scale overnight attack on Kyiv contained large numbers of foreign-made parts.

Vladyslav Vlasiuk said the strike involved hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles, and that investigators identified roughly 35,000 foreign-manufactured components in the weapons. He described the components as including dual-use and civilian products acquired through intermediary procurement networks before ending up at Russian military production facilities.

Among the firms referenced by Vlasiuk were a range of global electronics and semiconductor companies, along with other manufacturers from various countries, including China. He argued that the repeated appearance of tens of thousands of such components in Russian weapons should be enough for governments and manufacturers to review export controls, distribution channels, and sales to high-risk customers.

Ukraine has also said it repeatedly shares component-origin information with international partners, but Vlasiuk said responses have not been decisive enough, calling for stronger coordinated action to reduce Russia’s access to critical technologies.
