17-Vehicle Pileup: Highway Collision Sends 9 to Hospital in Massive Chain-Reaction Crash

OAKLAND, CA — A massive 17-vehicle chain-reaction pileup on Interstate 880 brought morning traffic to a standstill on Thursday, July 30, 2026 sending nine people to local hospitals and triggering a sprawling emergency response that lasted for hours.
